Before we begin your commission, I will need to have some photos of the subject to reference while painting. If you are available locally, I am happy to discuss arranging to come out and take photos for planning your portrait. I am also generally able to work from existing photos that meet the following requirements:

• Photos are not too bright or too dark

• The whole figure is in the photo

• The photo is in focus (i.e. it is not blurry or pixelated)

If you are unsure if a photo would work, please feel free to contact me and ask. You can send me as many pictures as you would like—different angles and expressions can help me to get a better feel for the personality of the subject!

If you have any specific desires or ideas for the painting, or if you need help deciding on the perfect composition to bring out the absolute best in your portrait, please let me know so we can brainstorm together!

I primarily work in standard sizes, which makes framing and delivery significantly easier. Prices are based on the size and medium of the artwork.

This list shows the prices for a portrait of a single subject with a simple background:

If you would like to have more than one subject in each painting, this will be an additional 30% of the base price for each additional subject.

If you would like to have a more complex background (for example, scenery or objects behind the subject), or if you would like to request a custom size, please contact me directly for a price quote.

** Please note that the turn around time for oil paintings is much longer than drawings because the paint needs time to cure between layers and before applying a protective varnish. If you need to have an oil painting by a specific date, please contact me as early as possible (minimum of 6 weeks in advance).

After you have selected a size and medium for your portrait, I will create a rough draft of your portrait. This is usually a sketch or digital mockup, and is intended to help you visualize what the final piece will look like before you commit to the full process.

After receiving your approval on the draft, I will send you an invoice for a 50% nonrefundable deposit. Once this payment is received, I will begin creating your portrait!

If you would like to receive progress photos to keep you in the loop throughout the creation of your commission, please let me know! I would love to share them with you.

Once your commission is complete, I will send you a photo of the piece to review. I am happy to do one revision if there is any aspect of the painting you are not satisfied with.

Upon final approval, I will send you an invoice for the remaining balance of the commission (plus shipping costs, if applicable). Your painting will be shipped within 3 business days of receiving the final payment. If you are available locally, we can also arrange for pickup or delivery.
